Silhouette Miniatures

So whilst browsing Google+ one day (yes, someone still uses G+!), I discovered a wargamer playing with some paper miniatures, printed on their normal printer. Just simple silhouettes of modern soldiers, but effective enough for proxies on the cheap.

So I decided to go one better, and 3D print my own equivalent!

So, not much painting progress for a while… But I have been doing some in the background! I love Battletech, and loved the animated series, so I’ve started painting some mech’s based on the schemes in that show, and in the action figure line. Got a lance of the First Somerset Strikers done, and started on some Jade Falcon opposition…

The Adventures of Triff Dyloss in the Crab Claw Cluster – Part 1

As promised, below is the Part 1 of the Triff Dyloss saga I have begun. I’ve been using Classic Traveller as a base (though that is quite an open system, hardly any of the rules have affected my adventure yet), being controlled by Mythic GME. This solo RPG session has become more of a structured writing experience than most D&D solo APs seem, but it’s been fun nonetheless!

The text in green denotes MythicGME rules mechanics in play, text in red shows Traveller rules, and blue is where I’ve just homebrewed something on the fly for randomization.

As I’ve said, this is more of a story than a crunchy rules heavy bit of roleplaying. But it’s a great start, and thoroughly exciting to play out!

The Crab Claw Cluster – Summary of Systems

As I have been playing a game of Classic Traveller solo, the adventure has been heating up! In advance of my first (lengthy) post on this, I am preparing a few bits of background around the “Coalition Of Systems” setting that I have devised. In the coming days/weeks, I’ll go into more detail, but here is summary of the subsector I’ve started with. In most cases, this is as much as I know about the worlds, but more is becoming clear with each play session.

S, N, or GG after the UPP indicates presence of scout bases, naval bases, and gas giants respectively. I haven’t included the trade categories in this, as my setting doesn’t stick to them as religiously as it perhaps should. Apologies, Traveller purists!

If it bleeds, we can kill it

Finished up my predators the other day (one in a stealth suit). I went too heavy with too dark a wash, took forever to bring  any life back to this mini.
My 15mm AvP skirmish set is nearing completion though! The Marines are well underway, including an APC converted from a 99p shop toy firetruck. I just wish I’d taken some in progress pics, ah well.
